All configurations in Tiguan 2 generation Volkswagen are produced on mechanics and automatic. Automatic transmission is installed with two clutches only in cars with front-wheel drive. The interior looks about the same. Compared to the previous generation, this is, of course, a breakthrough. Instead of smooth, rounded outlines, there are corners and broken lines. United tidy and the center console look decidedly modern. Everything in this design is recognizable: certain details can be seen in other models of the concern – in Touran, Touareg, Passat.

Recognizability and “family” design are diluted with color – salon Tiguana can also be light or black with bright orange accents. In such options, the interior looks boring and more expensive than its class. It is a pity that light upholstery is impractical, and orange-black was found in certain trim levels, and therefore there are not many of them.

Quality materials meets expectations: leather and fabric are pleasant to the touch and wear-resistant, they will look decent for a long time. The plastic is matte, moderately hard and not creaky. Among competitors, VW probably has the best finishing materials. And here everything is real, real. And in Kia Sportage, for example, the line on the front panel is embossed on plastic.

Options Volkswagen Tiguan II

Volkswagen Tiguan II has a serious arsenal of options and features that overwhelms rivals. The equipment of the model, even in the basic version, is more than decent: halogen front optics, LED taillights, turn signal repeaters on the side mirrors, rear window heating, fabric interior, heated front seats and steering wheel, electrically heated mirrors, and so on and so forth.

It is not customary for the Volkswagen Group to offer rigidly fixed configurations, so buyers could choose options. The list of available options depended on the equipment level and vehicle configuration. In 2019, the manufacturer revised the configuration and increased their number, so, of course, they did not increase clarity. Therefore, cars are equipped differently, even if they have the same equipment. In total, at the stage of official sales, there were 60 Tiguan equipment options.

And do not forget about the off-road version. In the second generation, the off-road attributes of the car (bumpers with an increased angle of entry, door sills and some electronic options) were brought into a separate Offroad package, which applies only to all-wheel drive versions.

The interior of the off-road version is also different: a combination of upholstery (fabric and artificial leather), pedals with metal lining, sill trims and floor mats with the word “Offroad”.

Suspension, brakes and wheels

IN Tiguan The latest generation has a fully independent suspension in the front, and a multi-link rear. All brakes in the car are disc, but the front ones are ventilated. Important! The brake on the AutoHold system is an electromechanical parking brake, it is better than others. Also, the system is equipped with regenerative braking, in this version it is very important.

The standard wheelbase is 26.81 m and the ground clearance is 2 meters. All-wheel drive modifications are equipped with the 4Motion Active Control system, which will allow you to manually switch driving modes between highway and off-road. You can use the adjustment depending on weather conditions, as well as an electronic locking cross-axle differential, if purchased.
