Build quality and components
Geely Coolray is produced at the BelGee plant in Belarus. Our Coolray is one of the first assembled there, so quality issues were more or less expected. They showed up. For example, even before the first maintenance, something unscrewed in the sliding mechanism of the armrest: it began to play and rattle. During TO‑1, the fasteners were stretched, and the problem was gone. I hope this is not a mass phenomenon.

Front pads worn out by 12,000 km. Wow! Servicemen say that they usually go within 45-60 thousand km. Either they are lying, or during our tests we overdid it with frequent intense braking.
One “cricket” settled somewhere under the roof lining in the area of the left central pillar of the body. But he is still alone: no new extraneous sounds have appeared, and this pleases. But plastic sometimes creaks on bumps, especially on frosty days.
Design
Of course, in the process of reviewing this model, its appearance cannot be ignored. In this regard, it cannot be said that the crossover stands out noticeably from its competitors. Rather, it will be clarified that this model looks more attractive than its main rivals. Cross received a youthful silhouette with sporty notes, as well as some aggressive outlines. If you pay attention to the front part, then it is somewhat similar to the front side of the Nissan Qashqai. There are also spectacular optics, a compact radiator grille and a powerful chin.
As for the arrangement of the cabin, it is made in the usual style for a model from Geely. At first glance, the design looks impressive and attractive, but at the same time, the cheapness of the materials used is clearly visible. Of course, a motorist will be able to see the poor quality of plastic or not the best upholstery only if he dares to transfer to this model from a more expensive vehicle of a higher class. In other situations, high-tech and stylish interior design will appeal to him.
Would you buy yourself?
Yes, but no. Yes, because according to its characteristics it is one of the best cars for the modern city dweller: convenient, maneuverable and moderately comfortable. But on condition that an active driver who loves and knows how to drive fast is driving (not to be confused with dangerous maneuvering between the rows). Although Coolray cannot boast of polished handling – and where to enjoy it in urban conditions – but it will please you with dynamic capabilities and good coordination of the power unit.
