The Chinese have mastered the technology of cloning well, and in the case of Hover, no gene mutations occurred. The twin of the Japanese “Isuzu-Axiom” turned out to be quite nice and solid. Initially, the car was made only in China, but already in April 2010, assembly was launched in Gzhel, near Moscow. The Russian VIN is located under the hood, on the engine shield on the left, the Chinese one is stamped on the frame, behind the rear right wheel, when registering it is entered simply as the frame number. Our assembly, unfortunately, differs not for the better. Body parts are poorly fitted, and already in the service you have to finish the car, eliminating unacceptably large gaps. There were cases when, due to a hacky assembly, leaks appeared in the cabin through the openings of the rear doors and the trunk lid.
The body color of the Hover is not famous for its high quality, but it also does not have serious flaws. The biggest problem was the appearance of rust under the lining of the fifth door due to the unsuccessful design of the latter. But it was already changed during the first restyling. The metal of the body is not galvanized, but with proper care somehow keeps.

What do bad and good options look like?
We do not consider all Chinese cars to be absolute evil and illiquid, and Hovers come into our field of vision quite often. Therefore, you can always find good copies with a technical guarantee on our sites. True, in order to find “pearls”, you need to delve into the “dirt” for a long time.
The first H5 is a southerner, from Krasnodar, 2020 and with a range of 138 thousand kilometers. It is not only diesel, but also automatic – many of those who are looking for a frame SUV form a request in this way. It is quite possible that the mileage is honest – this is confirmed not only by logic, but also by the condition of the interior: the leatherette of the driver’s seat has spread at the seams, although the automatic transmission selector and the leather on the steering wheel look even more or less decent.

But the body turned out to be noticeably worse: the car was not weakly beaten in the back, and the thickness gauge on the trunk lid showed a solid layer of putty. In addition to it, the rear left door was also repainted, although there were no “architectural” works here. Despite the fact that the car looked pretty decent on the outside, and even the interior was not too worn, the car does not meet our retail standards, and we refused to purchase it.
The second copy is the “Moskvich” of 2020 with half the mileage of 75 thousand kilometers. The motor is also diesel, but the gearbox is mechanical: it is its lever that becomes white already by 50-70 thousand, which can be seen in the photographs. The seats and steering wheel are a little better preserved, but they are already so shiny that it is impossible to believe the numbers on the odometer.
And the body, like that of the previous car, suffered even more: if the sweating taillight is a trifle, then the putty on the trunk lid and hood, which the thickness gauge could not break through, is not very good. On the front right wing, the layer turned out to be thinner – the metal is still palpable, but the car beaten in a circle definitely does not fall into the sphere of our interests.
However, many Hover owners manage to keep the car in a very decent condition even in 7-9 years – and we have several of these for sale. Here, for example, is a “high-quality analogue” of the first of the machines mentioned above: a diesel H5 on the machine. The mileage is 87 thousand kilometers, which is not much for 2020, but plausible, and the general condition of the car confirms this: the body is without an accident, and the interior is a solid five. Well, for the price, this Hover falls into the typical price category “up to 600 thousand”.

This is quite a reasonable move, given the inability to compete with mounted navigators.
The decision to make a new car that can be attributed to the executive class, but at the same time to remain practical and convenient is understandable, Asians want to reach as many potential customers as possible. The salon is equipped with comfortable ergonomic seats. The greatest comfort is possible only when there are no more than four people in the cabin. High-quality genuine leather was used as a finishing material, the steering wheel and many other elements are also decorated with it.
The designers of the Great Wall Hover H5 relied on a wraparound design, so the control panel blends seamlessly with the lines of the wing. And the contrasting connection of the interior trim with the drop-down instrument panel makes the elements visible and the driver will not have any difficulties while driving. The seats in the cabin can be folded in three different ways to give maximum comfort to the people in the cabin.
The driver’s seat can be adjusted to six different positions. By the way, what is not typical for Chinese cars is the seat heating, which is present in this SUV. The location of the on-board computer is very convenient, it will be very convenient to control the interior acoustics and the media system.
In the process of driving long distances, fatigue may be felt, since the front seats are made in a sporty manner, but do not meet all the criteria for comfort. It is worth noting that the head restraints are adjustable in the car, and even a tall person will be comfortable in the back seat.
