The interior and interior of the Mazda 6 2017 is nice and neat – everything here is ergonomically correct, practical and beautiful:
- comfortable and pleasant steering wheel
- good 7 inch head unit screen
- understandable climate control
- easy-to-use controls
- when equipped with Executive, a full range of comfortable settings, plus excellent finishing materials
The seats in the car are comfortable, which creates a feeling of a great interior. It does not disappear with time and does not deteriorate at all with the price tag. It’s been a long time since Mazda has seen such splendor.
The lowered doorway of the rear door makes getting in partly difficult, however, there is plenty of space in the rear seat. There are all comfortable conditions for existence – a cup holder, heated seats, air ducts, and the width of the space is enough for legs of any length. The back tilt is correct, and sitting here is very comfortable and spacious.

Safety
Mazda 6 is considered a safe car, as evidenced by the results of the crash test. The Japanese sedan protects the driver and front passenger with a 95 percent chance in the event of a frontal impact. For children seated in the back, this figure drops to 91%, which is also one of the best results on the market. However, during the crash test, experts found that the built-in security systems do not always work effectively. Moreover, the assistant to hold in the lane caused criticism, which was awarded 2 points out of four possible. The experts also drew attention to the fact that the design of the front of the body does not protect pedestrians at all in the event of a collision with them.
Specifications
power unit
For our market, the 2019-2020 Mazda 6 comes with three 4-cylinder petrol engines. The base is a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G power unit, which has a direct fuel injection system into the combustion chamber. This option generates 150 horsepower (213 Nm).
Next comes the 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G power plant, which has a direct “feed” system, a 16-valve DOHC type gas distribution mechanism, as well as variable valve timing. All this allows such an “engine” to produce 194 horsepower (258 Nm).
The aforementioned 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G engine, which received a turbocharger, acts as the top one. Thanks to this, he gives about 231 horsepower (400 Nm). Pretty good result for a non-sports car.
It would not be superfluous to note that the European market also received a diesel 2.2-liter SKYACTIV-D power unit, which generates 150 or 175 horsepower depending on the boost. The countries of the Old World after the update got the opportunity to install a new generation all-wheel drive system.
Transmission
All Mazda 6 GJ powertrains only work together with a 6-speed automatic transmission. All torque is transferred to the front wheels. From zero to 100 km / h, the Japanese sedan accelerates in 7-10.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is 207-239 kilometers per hour. In mixed mode, your fuel consumption will be about 6.5-7.7 liters of gasoline per hundred kilometers, depending on the modification.
Chassis
As the basis for the 3rd generation of the Mazda 6, the Japanese decided to use the Mazda Skyactiv Platform front-wheel drive “trolley” with a load-bearing body, which is 60 percent made of high-strength steel, and a transversely mounted power unit. The front wheels are based on standard McPherson strut suspension, while the rear wheels are based on a four-link design. The steering has an active electric power steering.
The brake system of the updated Mazda 6 2019 has disc brakes (front – ventilated), as well as an anti-lock braking system. Already in the basic configuration, the sedan has a G-Vectoring Control system. She is able to control the return of the “engine” as a response to the deviation of the “helm”, as well as to ensure the most even redistribution of loads during acceleration, braking, cornering.
Safety
Since the Japanese company made a big bet on its updated model, a lot of attention was paid to the safety issue of the Mazda 6. The percentage of use of high-strength steel has increased. The car received the maximum 5 stars in Euro NCAP crash tests. So, the sedan boasts:
- A system that warns of the exit from the occupied lane;
- G-Vectoring Control technology;
- Adaptive lighting technology;
- System of safe deceleration in the city – SCBC;

Prices and competitors
Prices for this sedan start at 1 million 200 thousand rubles, and with the maximum configuration, the New Mazda 6 costs 1 million 800 thousand rubles. For comparison, for the same amount you can take an apartment somewhere in the backyard, or a Ford Mondeo. Subjectively, he loses to the six in terms of equipment and design, but at the same time wins in the interior space. And by the way, Ford also rides well. You can take a Volkswagen Passat, it is similar in terms of equipment, although it costs more. There is also a Kia Optima, also a good car, but inferior in show-off and drive. As an alternative, Toyota Camry is suitable, which wins in show-offs, but is slightly behind in terms of the quality of interior trim. Overall, the difference between the 2021 Mazda 6 and the 2018 Toyota Camry is handling and suspension. The Toyota handles better and the suspension absorbs bumps better.
