After the update, the cost starts from 4 million for the Luxury package. And the top-end Flagship Sport that has been tested is estimated at 4.3 million rubles. However, in the case of the Tugella, I understand the 5,587 buyers who chose the car in two years of sales.
Geely Tugella 2022 model year has not lost any of its strengths after the update. In my opinion, the combination of qualities, power unit settings, wealth of equipment, convenience and coziness of the cabin allowed the Tugella to stay on top of the podium among Chinese cars. But the discovered roughness could be forgiven for the price at the start of sales. And for the current price, I would like more attention to detail. Moreover, competitors do not stand still.

I don’t doubt for a second, the guys from Geely wanted the best for the flagship. And in many ways (very) really succeeded. But before moving on to well-deserved laudatory odes, let me tell you about a thing that can blur the impression. I’m talking about the electric power steering, whose sports preset is gloomy darkness. Who has ever played racing simulators on cheap controllers, they remember this “fake batch” from the off-scale return force and a minimum of useful information.
The combination of the engine and the machine is epoch-making. It is not difficult to believe in passport 6.9 seconds to a hundred: on winter tires with an “extra” passenger, I got seven and a half. But it is better to forget about the sports preset of the electric amplifier. Individual mode, which allows you to select the settings of the accelerator and steering separately, the Chinese did not provide.
Is it worth it in hearts to run for a test ride to competitors? Do not rush – read at least this paragraph. The fact is that the level of mutual understanding of the engine and gearbox of the Geely SUV is such that you can forget about the sports mode without much regret. Even in “comfort”, the cross-coupe cheerfully reacts to the accelerator, willingly breaks into a kickdown tailspin and generally demonstrates good engineering manners. No matter what anyone says about the rate of fire of two-disk robots, the Tugella machine works faster and better than preselectives on crossovers and.
The abundance of casings under the hood clearly hints: do not go anywhere further than the washer reservoir, go to the dealer. The decorative valve cover trim can be used as an ice cube. Don’t thank.
Of course, in terms of the amount of two and a half million rubles, it is stupid and impossible to compare Geely purely with other “Chinese”. For similar money, it is not shameful to look at the well-equipped Kodiak and Tiguan, Sorento and Santa Fe. Or give up dimensions and all-wheel drive, hitting an “adult” premium like a “real” Volvo XC40 or Audi Q3. However, let’s be honest: today Tugella is the best car from the Celestial Empire, officially presented on the Russian market. And so far, there are no other contenders for this title on the horizon.

The steering was set up by people without sporting ambitions – there is no smell of sharpness here. But gentle turns with patches of asphalt car passes confidently. The steering wheel is not torn from the hands in a rut, although at speeds over a hundred it becomes excessively heavy. If the car didn’t have the brakes or chassis setup to handle the corners, with that temperament, it would come out right away.
The suspension is moderately hard. It works well for small and medium defects, but a little more indignant at large ones. “Lying” with increasing speed works out softer, but at the permitted 20-40 km / h shakes strongly. With such tires of dimension 245/45 R20, it is extremely difficult to achieve the best.
