On a single platform
The car was created on the basis of the CMA modular platform, common for Volvo and Geely. Among its relatives are the XC 40 and Tugella models familiar to our motorists. Despite the fact that the name of the platform contains the word “compact”, the crossover turned out to be not small: the length is 4770 mm, the wheelbase is 2845 mm.
Under the hood – a two-liter turbocharged gasoline engine – this type of engine has already become a kind of Chinese standard. The power of the four-cylinder engine is 218 or 238 horsepower. The first option is installed on front-wheel drive versions of the car and is paired with a seven-speed preselective robot. A more powerful motor is designed for all-wheel drive vehicles. It uses an eight-speed automatic transmission. The manufacturer of the machine is the Japanese company Aisin. The dynamic performance of the KX11 in both versions is close: acceleration to hundreds takes 7.9 or 7.7 seconds.

Better to see once
For a car like the Geely KX11, the review would be incomplete without mentioning the exterior and interior. Talking about the style of a car in words is an empty and useless exercise. Photography was invented a very long time ago and just for such purposes. Therefore, it is better to look at the photo of the car. We note that the exterior of the new model can be called more classic, somewhat conservative than futuristic. And even fashionable, LED lighting does not change this impression. Solid device, impressive! Although this is only one of the possible opinions and we do not impose it on anyone.
But the salon is the focus of modern solutions and the latest technologies. His general style is again clear from the photographs. We note the “glass” front panel, which integrates two displays: a multimedia system and a personal screen for the front passenger. There is also a digital instrument cluster.
The automatic parking system works remotely, at a distance of up to 200 meters. You can send the car yourself to look for a place in the parking lot or, conversely, call it to the owner – you must come yourself. A car through 5G networks can exchange information with other cars and road infrastructure. This allows you to optimize driving routes, improve the performance of adaptive cruise control and the smart parking system mentioned above helps. There is a choice of one of five driving modes: economical, comfortable, sporty, off-road and winter.
Exterior
The appearance of the car, judging by the photo, can be considered its winning side. It is not pretentious, emphasizing its connection with the best European fashion trends, but restyling still added bright details to the Chinese, thanks to which the car will definitely not get lost in the stream.
The face of Geely’s KX11 2022 evokes crossovers from sister brand Volvo. It has rather large dimensions, a sloping windshield and a relief hood cover with an abundance of longitudinal grooves and a slightly raised center. In the middle, under it, there is an oval chrome grille with vertical slats and a large brand badge in the middle. Small, quad-angled headlights are fitted with high-quality LED bulbs and daytime running light strips.
Immediately below all this, the body kit begins, visually lightweight, but powerful at the same time. Its aerodynamic transitions include a platform for a license plate, a wide additional air intake of complex shape, a lot of chrome-plated decorative stripes, as well as a solid protective plate at the very bottom.
The profile of the new model looks brutal. Small chrome roof rails emphasize the thoroughbred curves of the roof, and a massive window line in chrome edging with black-plastic pillars only enhances the impression. The relief here is mostly smooth, except for the stampings in the lower part of the doors. It ends in the area of huge rounded wheel arches and sills, equipped with a chrome trim. Here, the off-road nature of the crossover is emphasized by a protective black-plastic layer, and rounded mirrors with turn signal repeaters, rims with a diameter of 18 to 20 with an interesting pattern, and door handles slightly recessed into the body complement the look.
Behind the new body looks more relaxed. Under the antenna fin there is a massive visor with a brake signal repeater. A slightly tilted small glass passes into the almost sheer main part of the lid, which is decorated with LED marker lights, a thin strip passing through the entire stern. Below you can find small relief transitions, as well as deep stamping for the license plate. And this part ends with a massive body kit, decorated with thin fog lights and a large, intricately curved chrome strip.
