Russian development engineers from NAMI did not hide the fact that in working on the appearance of the new items they relied on the “classics” – the ZiS-110. The car really turned out to be impressive and respectable.
A large chrome grille, additional air intakes in the bumper, also sparkling silver, graceful hood curves and rectangular LED headlights – this is the portrait of the Aurus Senate. In general, no frills, but beautiful and harmonious.
The side is even more concise: a rather steep windshield rise and a smooth, sloping rear descent, wide door pillars. Handles, window frames and a strip on the bottom are chrome-plated. Side mirrors in body color, without any additional “decorations”.
If we compare the profile of the Senat with other models of this market segment, then the features of a rectangular, “lobed” Rolls-Royoce are visible in the front part, and the trunk lines are somewhat similar to a Mercedes-Benz Maybach.
Behind the sedan does not look as massive as in front. The trunk lid is highlighted by aerodynamic curves. The rear lights are small, more square in shape than the front ones. The bottom of the trunk is slightly sloping, giving the impression that the car has “raised its tail”.
Chrome-plated exhaust pipes are narrow, rectangular and separated on both sides of the body. There are also decorative chrome stripes on the trunk and on the bumper.
As the NAMI designers and developers stated, the appearance of the novelty was not supposed to be any unique, but at the same time it has its own face. They even compared luxury cars to expensive men’s suits.
There is a standard, general rules, from which they try not to deviate much. If you stick to such a comparison, then the Aurus Senat is tailored and well-tailored, this is a “high fashion” car.

Options and prices
The exact price of Aurus Senat was announced at the end of August 2019 – at least 18,000,000 rubles. As a separate option, you can order the “Cabinet” package, which includes two separate seats in the back row, a minibar and cup holders with the ability to cool or warm drinks. The price of the armored version, and even more so the “inaccessible” limousine, is unknown. The company hopes that the car will conquer not only Russia, but also other countries. The list of equipment is quite impressive. The machine has:

Handling and off-road performance
According to the level of these characteristics, Aurus Senat is one of the best in the class. The car received a very high-quality steering system, the only drawback of which, perhaps, is the installation of a hydro rather than an electric power steering. At the same time, on the highway or in the city, the sedan very confidently takes its lane, and the presence of a mass of driver’s assistants allows us to count on the fact that even in difficult situations, the Senat will show itself from the best side.
Of course, talking about the off-road qualities of a car that is premium is quite difficult. In general, the presence of an all-wheel drive system and a ground clearance of 200 mm make it possible to confidently overcome not only dirt roads, but also difficult off-road sections. However, it is hardly possible to seriously count on the fact that a motorist will have the courage to test his Aurus Senate in such conditions.
Interior
One of the main advantages of this car is the interior. The lion’s share of finishing materials was made in our country. This includes excellent leather, wood and metals, as well as a variety of quality fabrics. On top of that, the Aurus Senat 2021 boasts a state-of-the-art multimedia system, which sets it apart from most rivals that prefer traditional analog panels.
Directly in front of the driver is a Mercedes-like 2-spoke multifunction steering wheel. As for the dashboard, it was made according to the Mercedes-Benz type. Sitting in the driver’s seat immediately catches the eye is a very wide display, divided into 2 parts: the dashboard and the main screen of the entertainment center. Interestingly, the tachometer rotates counterclockwise.
Not without analog elements, placed a little lower on the panels specially designated for them. The specialists managed to harmoniously arrange a tunnel in the sedan, on which about a third of the area was allocated for the technical part, and the rest of the space was given to a variety of organizers. Opening the door of a limousine is not so easy, since it is always armored, but the regular sedan version will be armored only as a separate option.
In the center of the front console there was a place for branded analog clocks, which are the main attribute of such cars. Also, the engineers unusually beat the climate system unit with built-in displays into pucks.
Very impressive here are the seats, which stand out for their high quality and level of comfort. All 4 seats have excellent leather. They are very soft, comfortable and have a large number of different options. The front wheels boast a heating system, ventilation and several electric drive settings. But sitting in the back row is even more comfortable. In addition to the options mentioned, it has a massage, the ability to decompose them into a supine position.
If this seems not enough to someone, the salon is already equipped in the base with tables, armrests with controls for the multimedia system, “climate”, a refrigerator, cup holders and more. There is a lot of free space. The backs of the front seats have two displays of the multimedia center. The Russian sedan Aurus Senate is equipped with a decent luggage compartment (the exact volume is unknown), which received a neat finish, pleasant materials, as well as hidden lid hinges. As you can see, the interior of Aurus Senat turned out to be impressive.
The exterior of a representative Russian sedan
Unlike a limousine, the Aurus Senat S600 premium sedan is not equipped with armored protection, it has a shorter length (5.6 m), otherwise the external differences between these two bodies can be called insignificant.
At the front, the car is distinguished by a large rectangular grille with a chrome finish and vertical stripes, as well as two impressive air intakes on the sides of the front bumper, which provide the necessary air flow to cool the engine.
The Russian sedan looks very strict and elegant, as befits a car of this class – there are no bizarre outlines, catchy elements, excessive rounding.
The optics on the car are fully LED, although they do not stand out from the general background. The trunk lid has a slope, lowered closer to the rear bumper, in order to improve aerodynamics, it does not have a sloping shape, but is made with edges.
Body and interior
As already noted, so far there have been no local cars on the Russian market that would have such an expressive and striking appearance, as well as premium performance and expensive interior design.
The front part of the body of the premium Aurus Senat 2023 is made in the style of the British Rolls-Royce. Such proximity is manifested in the massive radiator grille, which has vertical filling with slats, as well as square head optics. On the side, the car did not receive any unusual solutions and is made in the style of a classic sedan, but at the back you can pay attention to relatively small lights and a short trunk lid. In addition, the use of a mass of chrome decor can be noted in the exterior of the car.
The interior of the Russian premium sedan is made in the appropriate style. Here you can note a huge scoreboard, consisting of a digital instrument panel screen and a multimedia system touchscreen. Leather upholstery, split rear seats, high-quality materials and natural decor – all this tells Senat passengers that they are inside a premium car.
Aurus Senat equipment
The Aurus sedan is a modern comfortable car, endowed with numerous additional options, special attention is paid to the convenience of rear passengers.
The floor of the cabin is covered with carpets with a high pile, the multifunctional steering wheel can take various positions with the help of electric drives of the steering column, easily adapts to any height and build of the driver.
The original four-zone climate control control unit is equipped with small but informative screens in each rotary knob, the seats not only have electric control, but are also endowed with a settings memory mode, heating, ventilation and a massage function.
There are other interesting options:
- automatic “smart” high beam control;
- full LED optics;
- keyless access;
- electric drive for opening the trunk lid;
- adaptive cruise control;
- blind spot monitoring;
- push-button engine start;
- all-round camera.
Of course, a full power package and all possible components of passive and active safety are provided here, there are nine airbags.
And among electronic assistants, in addition to traditional ABS, ESP, and so on, there are systems: determining the driver’s condition, recognizing traffic signs, collision avoidance, emergency braking, navigation, lane change warning, parking assistance.
The cost of Senat S600 starts from 10 million rubles, in 2019-20. small-scale production of about one hundred and fifty to two hundred cars is planned, but in the future, depending on demand, it is planned to produce up to 5,000 cars a year.
Conveyor assembly will be carried out in Alabuga (Tatarstan) on the territory of the Sollers plant, the launch of the line is scheduled for the second half of 2020.
But since for the next two years all the sedans that will be assembled by NAMI employees have already been sold out on pre-orders, it is unlikely that you will be able to buy Aurus Senate earlier than in 2021.
