Why such money?

Although the VX is not expected to have an easy walk: the big crossover will have to work hard on its own reputation. Even when the upgraded TXL went up to 2.7-2.9 million rubles, it became clear that the Exeed flagship will definitely not be cheaper than three. And so it happened: the price list was made up of two versions with speaking pathetic names – Luxury for 3,299,900 and President for 3,599,900 (it differs in the size of the wheels, adaptive cruise control with assistants tied to the radar, front parking sensors – among other things).

Comfort for the whole family

Salon Exid BX impresses not so much with the finish as with the size. High-quality materials, solid workmanship, rich equipment – this is already a kind of Chinese standard, which Exeed VX strictly adheres to. But the full size here is very noticeable. Behind the wheel is quite spacious and quite comfortable. There are no complaints about the review from the driver’s seat. Minor flaws in terms of ergonomics relate to screens that glare in the sun and some oddities with backlit secondary controls. But the second row of seats in the Exeed VX will comfortably accommodate even the largest passengers. Yes, and in the third row it is quite possible to go, although the placement there is not so free. No, and here Exid VX is still not premium: there are richer materials, more attention to detail. Unless space for rear passengers can claim the highest class. In general, the novelty can be described as a convenient, comfortable, family car of a fairly high class.

Driving pleasure

But let’s leave the nit-picking to the bores, the VX rides very well! I met a comment from video bloggers about the discrepancy between the power of the 249-horsepower power unit and the mass of the car – no, I did not feel a hint of a lack of power in the VX. Even though it’s not like in a German premium, you clicked and flew away, but 8.5 passport seconds to a hundred is enough for everyday driving. You can, if you want, leaving the traffic light, see in the rear mirror a crowd of credit sedans.

The seven-speed “robot” in Eco mode dulls a little in the first second after starting from a standstill and on the go, when you want to accelerate to drive through an intersection at a flashing traffic light. In Sport mode, the pause disappears, the box holds second gear up to 40 km / h, so there are no delays. Is that the sound of the engine becomes more audible, however, a pleasant tone.

The interior of the VX is very well muffled, in urban use it is a quiet car, and at idle it is almost silent – even the ticking of the turn signal on sounds louder than the running engine. And outside the city at cruising 100 km / h, the engine is not audible, only the tires are buzzing, and even somewhere in the area of ​​\u200b\u200bthe middle pillars and further aft, aerodynamic noise appears. And the higher the speed, the louder they are. But in general, it’s also nice to drive a VX on the highway: the car is comfortable, economical – the average out-of-town consumption I got was about 7 liters per hundred. The suspension copes well with road trifles, the brakes are clear, grippy, allowing you to dose the effort. Nice heavy steering that you can let go in a straight line and the VX will go like clockwork. Without making cries like “put your hands on the wheel” like an Audi or Volkswagen. In general, all VX electronic assistants work reliably, confidently, but at the same time tactfully, without violence against a person.

The only thing VX can disappoint those who are going on a trip with a big company is the promised seven places. To seat even children on the unfolded third row, you need to move forward almost to the limit of the second, and then no one will fit normally on it – look at the photo. We’ll have to choose, or the second row, or the third. But not both at the same time.

It is already useless to argue with this – the interiors of modern Chinese cars are most often perceived as more expensive than the price suggests. The VX is no exception: fleshy, textured “leather” with contrasting diamond stitching, nice decorative inserts that can easily be mistaken for lacquered wood, and trendy modern architecture can really impress. The same Palisade and, especially, Teramont with their rustic American plastic will seem cheap, and no panels made of natural Japanese ash will save the prehistoric electronics of the CX-9 in the eyes of a real client.

Exeed simply looks and feels smarter than others, for nothing that copies almost the entire premium at once: dual displays without a visor and an engine start button are copied from Mercedes-Benz, the climate control unit is a hybrid of Volvo and Land Rover, and on the central tunnel of the Chinese » Nano transmission selector and Lexus-style touchpad. True, for the Russian market this area has been completely redone for the better: a normal gear lever and a large volume knob have not harmed anyone yet.
