• Base from Outlander with improved wheelbase settings, shortened steering rack, electronic differential lock in front and simulated rear.
• Known dimensions – 4.405 m in length, wheelbase 2.67 m with extended track.
• The main power unit is a T-MIVEC gasoline turbocharged engine with a direct injection system. Its volume is 1.5 liters, power – 163 hp, torque – 250 Nm. For the Japanese market, a 2.2-liter Di-D turbodiesel engine with a capacity of 150 hp is also installed on the crossover.
• The diesel engine is combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the rest of the equipment is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed CVT.
• Acceleration to a speed of 100 km / h a car with a manual gearbox performs in 10.3 seconds, while the consumption is 6.5-7 liters in mixed mode. The speed limit with these parameters is 205 km / h.

Options and prices

In Russia, you can purchase 4 configurations and 5 versions. The basic version, Invite, is equipped with 18-inch wheels, fog lights, a heating system and electric mirrors, an on-board computer color screen and adjustment of the second row of seats. The same configuration has an audio system with 4 speakers and climate control.

A more expensive modification, Intense, is distinguished by the presence of a heated steering wheel, cruise control, a leather gear lever, paddle shifters and already 6 speakers for audio playback. At Eclipse Cross there is a rearview camera, an electronic parking brake and 2 zones of climate control.

The front-wheel drive version of the Instyle has LED headlights, leather upholstery, keyless entry and a power driver’s seat. When buying an all-wheel drive option, the owner receives not only a variator, but also an increased number of security systems.

The top equipment with all-wheel drive received 8 speakers and a subwoofer, a dashboard projection screen and a blind spot monitoring system. The interior of this version is trimmed with leather, high and low beams switch automatically, and all-round visibility is provided by 4 cameras.

In Ukrainian car dealerships, you can buy the basic equipment of such a car at a price of about 680 thousand UAH. You will have to pay 813 thousand for the Intense version. The top Eclipse Cross Ultimate will cost 971,000 hryvnias when choosing the regular version and 984,000 hryvnias when ordering a red metallic color.

It’s definitely not Aztek?

Against the backdrop of fairly conservative, if not boring, Mitsubishi crossovers, the rookie looks impressive. Although this style cannot be called new – we saw it on the same XR-PHEV concept five years ago. But you can’t confuse it with any other Mitsubishi model. Already good. At the front, the X-shaped chrome-plated study of complex geometric shapes attracts attention. Many are trying to attribute this decision to Lada, although the Japanese were the first to use such an X.

The side of the Eclipse Cross looks the most interesting. The beveled C-pillar and the window line tapering towards the “tail” make the appearance of the car dynamic, if not sporty. You immediately draw parallels with the 2-door namesake. The wheels are placed along the edges of the body, a black plastic lining visually expands the opening.

The stern raises the most questions. The horizontal crossbar, reminiscent of the Pontiac Aztek, will appeal only to fans of the Breaking Bad movie. In addition, such an element significantly impairs visibility. The janitor is present only on the “second floor” of the rear window. Everything below the crossbar (it is also a brake light) will most likely be stained in winter. Sharp taillights and a spoiler on the fifth door add “raisin” to the design of the rear.

Interior

The inside of the car is just as attractive as the outside. It is impossible to talk about high build quality, but the applied design style can be called original.

The key points of Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 2018, the price of which is one of the most affordable in the class, are the following points:

• The instrument panel is classic, but made in a very attractive style. It is intended to display a wide variety of information, but you cannot call it truly informative.
• The steering wheel is quite large; several blocks of various controls are placed on massive spokes. When finishing, glossy material and soft plastic are used.
• A rather unusual style was used in the design of the center console. It has sides on the sides, in the upper part they placed a small display to display basic information. The climate control unit is also vertically located.
• Most of the control units were moved to the tunnel between the seats. An example is the lever for switching the operating mode of the box, as well as the touch panel, several keys for controlling the operating mode of the drive. An interesting solution is that the start / stop button is located on the tunnels.
• The seats have lateral support, an armrest is located in the middle.
• When trimming the cabin, leather and soft plastic are used.

The salon looks quite simple, but at the same time modern. In the maximum configuration, the applied leather and other materials have high-quality stitching that complements the style.
