In addition, there are branches that are engaged in development and research work. The main production plant is located in Baoding, which is located in Hebei Province. Hem the collar – and in service

Six years ago, returning the test Hover to the dealership, I moved with relief to my Korean hatchback – with a modest, but high-quality and ergonomic interior, in which everything you need is at hand, the seat is not leather and without electrical adjustments, but located at the right height, and clumsy excesses like a motley and very grainy screen of “climate” and “music” are simply absent.

Only six years have passed (or even six years?) – and I part with the new “Hover” even with some regret. They liked it very much and even tied such functions as a rear-view camera, tire pressure monitoring, and a multimedia system for a week of trips. It is possible to equip my current Korean car of approximately the same class with all this, probably for no less than 100 thousand rubles – a lot! And here it is all in the “base” …

But, of course, most potential buyers of Chinese SUVs are much less concerned about buttonholes and bulges than about reliability. How long will the main units last? Will the body “bloom” soon? It’s a sin to hide – in just a one-year-old car with a mileage of less than 10 thousand kilometers, we found a red coating (under the hood, in places of spot welding and seams). Alas, such things create a very negative opinion about the “Chinese” in the Russian automotive community. Although actually…

But in fact, these cars are still much better than what they say and write about them (especially those who have never driven them). And they would be even better if their manufacturer paid a little more attention to detail. I would bring gloss, marafet, somewhere I would use more modern materials, somewhere – better components.

So that the owner-driver does not have to blush and make excuses to passengers, friends and acquaintances – yes, the transmission is noisy, the “turn signals” are clicking too loudly, the brakes are uninformative, and what do you want for 845 thousand rubles? Equally richly equipped SUVs and crossovers of Korean, Japanese and European production cost much more without exception, and similarly priced cars with the same “bells and whistles” have neither all-wheel drive nor decent ground clearance.

Who is the Hover H5 with “automatic” for? Perhaps, to the greatest extent – for people who combine daily routes around the city with endless traffic jams, outings on nature on weekends, as well as traveling long distances (but without serious off-road) in their movement through life. In this regard, this car could win over to its side many of those who today choose used crossovers, all-wheel drive minivans and SUVs from more famous companies, as well as new station wagons of the C or C size class in the maximum configuration.

But for this, “Hover” would need to grow up a little more. A lot has been done in six years, perhaps, the work remains for a year, no more. Perhaps we will not see all these annoying little things in the new Great Wall models that should appear on our market in the near future: these are Hover H6 and H7. The first is promised to us just in time for the end of 2020, the second – in 2020. Wait and see?

As for the reliability of the “Chinese”, I would not be as categorical as numerous bloggers and participants in Internet forums. Having experience in the operation and repair of quite a few cars of various brands, models and countries of origin, I can say with all confidence: a lot of things break down, moreover, for cars of well-known brands – too! Another question is that their “trump cards” are the development of the service network, the smooth supply of spare parts. The Chinese are far behind in this.

And the generally accepted opinion about the unprecedented reliability of the “Japanese”, “Germans”, etc., was largely skillfully formed by clever marketers and PR people who have long gotten their hands on such things. Apparently, the Chinese will have to master this aspect of the market in order to gradually completely get rid of the prevailing stereotype of attitude towards cars from the Middle Kingdom in the minds of Russian car owners and form a completely different public opinion about them. It will be very interesting to compare it with the current one in a few years.
